Called to Take Care of our Master
Whoever tends
a fig tree gets to eat its fruit,
And whoever
takes care of his master will receive honor.
(Proverbs
27: 18)
Sounds quite different from what we usually hear and
understand isn’t it? “Taking care of our
master.” Some of you would say that all these days you were under the
impression that the master takes care of us and not the other way around. Yes,
He does. Our most caring Master, God our Father, takes care of us. God knows
each and every season of us, the needs in those seasons, whatever we yearn for
during those seasons and he provides every need and our heart’s desire, in His
time. He takes care of us, indeed!
But there is something more accomplishing and privileging to
be a servant under this master, our Lord God. We have to take care of Him too.
We are called to take care of our Master. Yes. Reading this line and realizing
that this phrase actually exists in the Bible, takes your eyes and thoughts
towards new horizons. And some of us respond saying “what? Really?”
The answer, is a big fat Yes!
The master who has called us to
be His servant, also has called us to take care of Him. To take care of His
great plans. To take care of His great mission in this world. To take care of
His kingdom and its administration. Yes. That’s what we are called for; to be
active and honest participants in this great mission. We have to take care of
God’s great mission on this earth and work until our last breath to ensure that
God’s will is done. And when we do this, we are taking care of our master. We
are part of this mission.
Being this great Master’s servant is not about just obeying,
but working together. Making His thoughts ours. God’s plans becoming the
project plan in which we all work under. And moreover, His work becoming our
work. When this happens, we take of our Master’s work. We take care of our
Master.
And whoever
takes care of his master will receive honor. Taking care of our master doesn’t
go unnoticed. There is a great reward. And what is that? Honor...
My dear
friend in Christ. Let me encourage you today to take care of our Master. To
keep His plans in mind and to work for it day and night. Let me also encourage you
to take care of God’s great mission in this world and to ensure that our
Master, God our Father’s work is done in the right way. We are called to take
care of our Master!
May God
bless you.
