Godly Secrets and Human Discoveries of Everyday
God is honoured for what he keeps secret.
Kings are honoured for what they can discover.
(Proverbs 25: 02)
Our daily prayers, as we kneel in front of God Almighty, is filled with praise, thanksgiving, confession of sins, resolutions and requests. As days pass by, we know that the list for thanksgiving increases while our requests are answered, one after the other, according to the Lord's will. It is within this small gap of 'human requests' and 'God's answers' do exist a whole realm of mystery. And this mystery is because of the secrets that God keeps and the human effort to discover those secrets every day.
The wise sayings of Solomon, copied by the men of Hezekiah king of Judah, proclaim that "God is honoured for what He keeps secret." This is the great mystery behind our prayers and God's answers. If all the great things that God has kept for us was listed and given to us to go by and claim, I do not see the word 'faith' anywhere in our lives. It is God's secrets that become the main element of our faith. We continue to trust God as we believe that day by day, He will reveal the secrets. God keeps everything that He has planned for us as a secret, and as we continue to have faith in Him and trust Him, God reveals the secrets.
The everlasting faith and never-changing trust is the basis of the discovery of our lives. King Solomon explains this by saying, "Kings are honoured for what they can discover." Those who have this great faith can continue to discover the things God has promised for them. Every answered prayer is a discovery of God's secrets kept for us. We understand that God's plans and ways for us were far greater and loftier than we would have ever imagined them to be. When God reveals His secrets we understand that our discoveries of faith and trust have hope. There is an ongoing mutual relationship between God's secrets and human discoveries of those secrets.
Those who have the resilience, patience, faith and trust to keep their hope on God's timing in revealing His secrets are referred to as 'Kings' by Solomon. When we read Proverbs 25: 02, we also understand that in the following verse Solomon describes such people of faith and trust as people who have an immeasurable mind. He says, "No one can measure the height of the skies or the depth of the earth. So also no one can understand the mind of a king." Those who continue to believe in what God has for them will be like the Kings who finally discover. The more the faith, the more the discovery. And the more you are able to discover, the more is the honour you could bring to the Lord who showers blessings upon you.
Today our lives may be full of questions. We may be still waiting for our prayers to be answered. Our lives may be, right now, in the midst of this mystery between God's secrets and our discoveries. But let us learn to trust God. Let us look to Him in faith. Let our discoveries continue. Each and every day of our lives be a day of discovery when a secret is revealed to us. Let us wait on the Lord with faith and patience as we seek His holy presence for His guidance.
I pray that the power of God the Father, the grace and love of Christ Jesus the Son and the fellowship and guidance of the Holy Spirit be with each of us as we continue to honour God and seek His presence in faith. Let our prayers be the adventures of discovery as we wait upon the Lord to realise the wonderful secrets He has for us.
May God bless you.
Yours in Christ,
