The Creator in the Midst of His Creation

The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid.
I am bringing you good news that will be a great joy to all the people.
Today your Savior was born in the town of David.
He is Christ, the Lord.
(Luke 02: 10,11)

The story of Christmas is greater than we ever thought it to be. The sheer magnitude of this spectacular birth is felt in every corner of the earth and in the depths of every yearning heart. God becoming a human is a significant moment. By allowing Himself to be born into a human body and mind, the Creator humbled himself to join His creation. He removed all His glory and came down to earth to live as one amongst us. And that is the greatest news of Christ Jesus's birth.

God the Creator joining the human journeys in the world was spectacular. His arrival was not in the style that the way the then suffering world expected the Messiah the deliverer to be. But it was a greater reminder of the whole purpose of God's presence among the human beings in their form. The birth of Christ Jesus was not only for the rich and also it was not only even aimed at the poor. It covered the whole spectrum of society. And interestingly the first two groups of people who came to see God as a newborn human baby were from the two extremes of this spectrum of the society of that time.

The shepherds who were counted as the least, illiterate people on the move with their cattle, struggling for their daily necessities and not established themselves in the competitive progress of accumulating knowledge and wealth were the first ones to see Christ the Lord. But the next group, indeed, was made of people who were thought to be in the other extreme of the social spectrum with their highest standards of living. The so-called "wise men" were wealthy and knowledgeable, believed to be the crowns of the society, influential and daring and were able to reach even the highest ranks of the country including the royals and the aristrocrats with their challenging knowledge of the time.

This is a reminder that the Creator joined His creation with a purpose, and this purpose included everyone in society. He wanted to reach the yearning hearts of everyone. This beautiful purpose included God's life as a human being, in human flesh and thoughts, with human emotions and circumstances. Through this wonderful and beautiful purpose, God wanted to show us the way not only to live on this earth but also to reach home, the eternity, safely. He made the way and Christ Jesus was that way!

God came to meet you. That was His sole purpose. Jesus Christ wanted to reach you in person. You, being His precious creation in His own image, are not one of the trillions of choices for Him. For God, each one of us is His priority! It's hard to accept this fact as human beings for we are bound by our human limitations. But for God, making everyone His priority is possible. And thus, you are His priority. He took a similar form like you out of all His creations, and God in Three Persons (The Holy Trinity) came in search of you. That is the good news of Christ's birth.

Today this God of love, who did not forget you, is welcoming you into the warmth of His love. God omnipotent is in the midst of you, in human form, lean and small, struggling with the physical and social conditions. And the reason why He has removed all the majesty and glory is you. The angel of good news today stands at the door of your heart and he says “Do not be afraid. I am bringing you good news that will be a great joy to all the people. Today your Savior was born in the town of David. He is Christ, the Lord." Today your Savior is indeed born in the heart of yours and He is Christ, the Lord! Give yourself, your loved ones, your circumstances, your physical ailments, your financial struggles, your social yearnings, your dreams, your passions, your aims and your everything. He came to the world to show the way and make the way while He was hanging on the cross at the end of His journey on earth with us. The third day, He rose again from the dead and He lives in the midst of us. He is calling you. Acknowledge His presence in your life and begin a new life with Him. It is indeed a life of blessing.

I pray that God will bless you abundantly as you begin a new journey with Him, while you acknowledge His everlasting presence in your life. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you and help you to overcome every challenge of faith. May the guidance of the Holy Spirit lead you towards spiritual adventures that you've never experienced before. May you receive this greatest Christmas gift, Jesus, in your life.

I wish you and your family a Blessed Christ-filled Christmas.

Yours in Christ,
