Telling God All Our Problems

 Psalm 62: 5 -12

"People, trust God all the time.
Tell Him all your problems,
because God is our protection."
(Psalm 62: 8)

We are living in one of the challenging times in history. Most of our plans and dreams, the way we wanted them to be, did not become a reality. The present conditions of anxiety and difficulties, the sad and fearful everyday news, and prayer requests from loved ones remind us that we have to be vigilant, all the time.

Moreover, nowadays I have become so accustomed to the habit of looking up to the sky and setting my ears to hear the trumpet sounds. Every time I remember to look up, I am reminded also of the wonderful and glorious moment that our Lord Jesus Christ will appear in the sky with His angels, and all the human eyes on the earth will see Him in all His glory and splendor!

Our present circumstances, in the midst of this pandemic, should never become a reason for us to lose our trust, faith, love and honour that we have in our loving Lord. Our Heavenly Father is watching over us as we continue to leave human footprints (or electronic ID prints) on this earth and everything that is in it. We are called today to look unto Him, trusting Him and waiting for His answer.

All of us are facing numerous "problems" and "difficulties" right now. I may not have to name them one by one, but I have put these two words within quotation marks because these are two of the many common words that we hear nowadays from everyone, literally every single person. If we could ask everyone this little question, "how are you doing?", I am sure that everyone has their own story of the struggle over the last many months. And, what do we do about this? Crying? Worrying? Sharing status on social media? Being silent? Avoiding? Losing faith? Ignorant? No... Not at all! As the children of God the Father, the Maker of heaven and earth, the One who is full of grace and compassion, we are invited to tell Him all our problems! Yes. You and I, we are called to tell our problems to our God. Let me share with you two important and interesting things in faith about telling God all our problems, based on the verse that we have taken for the day.

First - Telling God all our problems shows that we trust in Him and nothing else. Psalm 62: 8 says "People, trust God all the time. Tell Him all your problems, because God is our protection." So when we run to God every day and tell Him all our struggles, difficulties, financial burdens, clueless conditions, delayed decisions, physical ailments, mental pressures, workplace battles, relationship struggles and many others, we are showing not just in words but in our life that we are trusting God in this.

Second - By telling God all our problems, we acknowledge that God is our protection in the midst of this struggle. One of the main reasons why we fear and become anxious of situations is that we fail to realise that God is in control! The moment we understand and realise that our God is our protection, we will rest assured in the middle of this crisis. For we know that God's protection is not only for our life on this earth but also for the eternity that we all may have to face one day. A heart that remembers that God is there as its protection will never tremble will never become anxious, will never lose the faith, for that heart will be assured of God's presence in life and through eternity.

So, this is the calling. Yes. This is the calling today for you and me. Trust and tell, and realise God is your protection. May the blessing and power of God the Father, the love and grace of Christ Jesus the Son, and the fellowship and guidance of the Holy Spirit, be with us and help us as we continue to trust God all the time, tell God all our problems, and realise one by one, day by day, that God is our protection.

    May God bless you.

    Yours in Christ,
