Passage to be read: Psalm 65: 9 - 13

You take care of the land and water it; (a)
you make it very fertile. (b)
The rivers of God are full of water. (c)
Grain grows because you make it grow. (d)
(Psalm 65: 9)

Today's devotion is a message of blessing. A message of assurance. All those hearts and bodies that are weak, parched and barren have a message. And this message of joy would bring in the faith that would lead you to be a great witness of the great miracles and blessings of God.

If you are reading this devotion today with a heart of hopelessness and weakness, please stay by me for a while; you are yet to receive the assurance that God is bringing you today, specially for you! Have you been waiting for a blessing for a while? May be a very long wait, and today you are tired. You have lost all hopes. You know there are no chances.

The doctors have already made a decision on you. It could be zero chances. Your fields at your workplace are all dried. You have been waiting for an improvement for a long time. Chances of passing an exam may be nil. Getting an admission for a course may look totally out of the picture. You have been struggling with your financial conditions, unable to manage your daily needs. Your long wait to find your blessed life-partner may be tiring you. You are about to make a decision. You have been waiting as a young couple for the blessing of a child, and today you may read this with the tears flowing from your parched eyes that God has still not made your land fertile. You may be praying for a long time for the healing of yourself or someone who is so dear to you, and you see no avenue. But my dear friend in Christ, let me tell you that today God is assuring you something amazing. He wants to remind you of something. God wants to bless you. He wants you to realise something that would change your life forever.

First, I want to encourage you to read this wonderful passage from Psalm 65: 9 - 13. What an assurance we find in the Lord. The one who wrote this psalm, David, leads us towards the mighty and wonderful faith that he enjoyed in the Lord. This psalm is an expression of what David witnessed as one of the mightiest kings of the land of Israel. He sings to God this truth that he has realised. Let these words of truth now speak to you in this time of hopelessness and weakness.

God takes care of your land and waters it (Psalm 65: 9 a). Remember, when God is having a great plan with your land, He makes sure to take care of it. He waters it regularly. Nurtures it. He prepares it for the right season. Only Him, the God Almighty, knows the season. God would reach the ends where the human touch is impossible. His mighty and miraculous hands would plough the land and make it fertile. His strength will accompany you to the boundaries that you never thought you would reach. And today, give yourself to God. Believe that your mighty and loving God is working on your land. He is taking care of it. Not your physician, not the agriculturist, not your HR, not your bank balance, not share-holders, not your board of directors and not your trainer. But God is having His hands working on your land. He takes care of it. He waters it regularly. It is God who prepares your land. Believe in Him. Trust Him. Kneel down before Him and say, "Lord I know that you are taking care of my land and you are watering it. My body, my efforts, my family, my initiatives, my ministry, my education, my promotion; everything is taken care by you. You are taking care of it, nurturing it and preparing it for the right time. Thank you Lord."

God makes your land very fertile (Psalm 65: 9 b). God took care of it and nurtured it for a reason. A reason that the human minds may not understand. It may be a reason even you yourself may not realise it in your life time. But since God had dealt with it, surely the harvest is big; big enough for the world to wonder at His miraculous touch. If your land is barren today, trust in Him, and know that God is working on your land. He will make it very fertile. Amen! Say "Amen" with me while you read this! All that was lacking in your life, that one thing that kept you away from the others, that one thing that you eagerly awaited will be given to you in plenty. You would see your land being filled with the harvest that you never imagined of. You cried for one, and God will bless you with many! He will make things work in His time. If your land being barren was the only reason that kept you away from the blessing you are waiting for, then know that God will make that land fertile. He will make it ready to receive the waters and grains, and will prepare it to be fertile. He enables the land with whatever it lacked to be fertile. Blesses it.

God waters you from His rivers of abundance (Psalm 65: 9 c). God's rivers of blessings are always full. There's an abundance of nourishment. God does not struggle like the irrigator. He does not wait to save water from the dam. God's rivers of blessings are always full. And from that fullness, He blesses you. And when God begins His work, you will have an abundance of water. When the wait is over, you just have to remember, that it is going to be a season of abundance. The work does not pause because of the season. God's work does not wait for the monsoons. Rather, He waters you from the rivers of abundance. And the blessings that you receive from Him will be so abundant that the joy fills every part of your life.

God makes the grain grow. It is Him who does that! (Psalm 65: 9 d). While you will be still lost in the miracle that is happening within and around you, God will not just sit there and watch things work. He took care of the land, He watered it, He prepared it, He made it very fertile, He made His rivers of abundance flow, and remember He also assures that the grains planted on the land grow. Look at that wonderful phrase of admiration and awe that comes out of the heart of Psalmist - "Grain grows because you make it grow." God will ensure that the growth on this fertile land is really fruitful. He will ensure the growth. Because after all these miraculous moments it is HIM who makes the grain grow. God will take care.

My dear friend in Christ Jesus. I am sure that God has spoken to you a message of assurance so clearly. I know you really needed it today. And remember, God wanted to specially reach you through this message so that you would receive His abundant blessing and He would make you a blessing to many others around you. All negatives that have surrounded you right now, let it fade away in the mighty name of Jesus.

I pray that you will surrender yourself into the loving and mighty presence of the Lord. May you be open for Him to touch you. Give all your failures, emptiness, barrenness and negatives into His powerful hands. Give yourself totally into His hands. He will bless you abundantly.

May God bless you.

Yours in Christ,
