Run First to God

Passage to be read: Romans 11: 22-36

"And I will make this agreement with those people
when I take away their sins."
(Romans 11:27)

The assurance we have in our loving Heavenly Father is the greatest gift we all have received. And this assurance is given to all of us through Christ Jesus. When we look at the cross on which Jesus died for you and me, we remember that someone had to be the sacrifice on our part; for the mistakes we had made and are making, the sins we had committed and the sins we are committing.

Where do you run when you know that you have done a mistake? To whom do you go to tell that you really feel bad or hurt when things do not turn out the way you wanted them to be? Where is that refuge you would find when your ship is caught in the midst of the storm? Your choices may differ. But my dear friend, the best idea and the most important thing is that, you run first to God!

The solutions for all your problems are with God. He awaits your rush towards Him when you are in times of trouble, feeling guilty, lost and ridiculed, failed or even rejected. His assurance gives you life. The cross reminds you of that assurance.

Let me remind you something that would change your entire perspective.

When you run first to God, fall at the foot of the cross, begging for pardon, He accepts you. And, if you are clear with your school grammar, let me remind you, that God accepts you as you ARE! Not only the mistakes you have made, but the mistakes you ARE making. He accepts you with whatever you submit yourself. And that's why, my friend, I am asking you to run first to God.

When you know that you have just made the greatest blunder ever, run first to God. When you know that you are slowly falling into the dungeon of temptation, run first to God. And when you know that you need help, run first to God. When you run first to God, our merciful Father does not only forgive the sins you have committed, but He also forgives the ones you are committing. He accepts you as you are.

When we run first to God, He forgives and He makes an agreement with us. And that agreement is what God has assured us through Christ Jesus on the cross. The assurance of the forgiven sins gives us the assurance to live a new life. The new life keeps us free from the dungeon of temptations and guides us throughout, to live our life as God wants it to be. God's forgiveness leads us into a phase of life where God wants to deal important matters with us, and that's when He finds us to make His agreement with us.

There are many moments and circumstances in life where you find yourself lost in the midst of the storm, just like a ship that struggles to find its way. But where else will the ship go? Where else will the ship set its focus? Which will be the most safest place to reach first? Which direction? Probably, the answer would be, the search for a light house. Sail in the direction where a light house is found. And that's what you also need to do my friend.

God is waiting to accept you as you are, and to forgive your sins, the mistakes you have made and the ones you are making. He will not only forgive you, but also give you an assurance of forgiveness of sins. And more than anything, He makes His agreement with you, so that God will continue to have the strong bond with you. All that you need to do is, run first to God, before searching for any other help. He is your refuge! Don't be pretending that everything is fine with you, when you know that you need help. Run to God.

I pray that you will always run first to God, and find the new life assured in Him.

May God bless you.

Yours in Christ,
