What if God says No?
But He said to me,
"My grace is enough for you.
When you are weak, my power is made perfect in you."
(2 Corinthians 12:09)
There is that one thing in your life which you want the most, but you never get it. Questions storm your mind as you keep moving with your life. Each day begins with the hope that you would receive it today, but the day ends with a deep breath that reminds you that it is another day with lost hopes.
You may see the road of hope not ending, and you know the importance of this one thing in your life, that you are asking for. You pray and keep waiting, and nothing seems to move.
Let me ask you a question.
What if God says No?
What if the thing that you are asking for is delayed or even denied?
How will you respond when God says No to you?
As human beings, we yearn for many things. We yearn for things that we want, and for the things that we need. We yearn for blessed relationships, we yearn for love and affection, we yearn for a better living that the society thinks is perfect, we yearn for an assured and steady income, we yearn to travel, we yearn to impress, we yearn to win and a lot of times we yearn for the most tiniest and little things that we feel is important for us. And God, in His greatness, has already promised us many things.
What if that one thing that you are asking for is not there in God's 'promise list' for you?
How are you going to respond when the reality hits you, when the truth slowly wraps you?
My dearest friend.. If you are reading this with a heavy heart that you can almost hear it beating, then it is time for you to lean and take a deep breath. Let us face this together.
Content. That's the word. "A state of heart in which you would be at peace if God gave you nothing more than he already has for you"- (In the Grip of Grace, Max Lucado). God has promised that His grace is enough for us and when we are weak, His power is made perfect in us. What an amazing promise that is! God's grace is that one thing which will change your life.
Remember, being content is not with what God has already given you, but the grace of God that is always sufficient for you. It is true that we become weak when we realise at the end that the one thing that we were asking for is not promised for us. And, yes, as humans we become weak to the extent of feeling that everything is shattered. But remember, you have God's grace, and that is enough for you. In your weakness, God's power is made perfect in you.
My dearest friend, I pray that God will lead each and everyone of us to seek Him, to seek what He has promised for us. Sometimes, the answer would be a definite "No" from God, and we must know that He has something better and worthier to be given to us. Let us remember that His grace is enough for us, and His power will be made perfect when we are weak. Let us be content with the promises God has for us, for His grace is sufficient for us.
May God bless you.
Yours in Christ,
