Do Not Fear, for The Lord Will Protect You

Passage to be read: Psalm 121:1-8

"The Lord will protect you from all dangers; He will guard your life. The Lord will guard you as you come and go, Both now and forever." (Psalm 121: 7,8)
There are so many moments in our lives when we begin to realize that everything around us has vanished. All those strong pillars and foundations that we thought would hold us forever suddenly fell down and got thrashed. Monuments that we had been building for years faded away. And those things that we believed would help us at the time of need are no more to be seen.
Fear begins to slowly creep within ourselves. No one's around us. We see the waves of problems and difficulties approaching us and we do not have anyone who could save us, or even anything that would protect us. We lose all the balance in life. Stressed and then depressed, we look forward towards the painful end. But, my dear friends in Christ Jesus, let me tell you this. We do not need to fear. Because the LORD will prote…

God's Grace is the Hope of Eternity

Passage to be read: Titus 03: 03 - 07

Being made right with God by His grace,  we could have the hope  of receiving the life that never ends. (Titus 3: 7)
The thoughts and excitements of eternity is an important part of our life. From the day we realised, probably as a child, the promise of eternal life we have been dreaming and trying to extend our thoughts of eternity. We want to learn more. At every point we want to make ourselves believe that there is indeed a promised life after. But we still know that we have not got the right picture before us; we know that it is going to be more than what our human minds would imagine of. But the path that would lead us into the life that never ends is exciting too. And that path is God's grace.
Grace is the approval or kindness, especially that is freely given by God to all humans. This grace of God is not limited within our human thoughts. His grace is not even bounded by our limited possibilities. And throughout our life this grace lead…

Teachings and Orders that Give Life

Passage to be read: Psalm 119: 89-96

"If I had not loved your teachings, I would have died from my sufferings.  I will never forget your orders, because you have given me life by them" (Psalm 119: 92,93)
Teachings and orders are common amongst us. Everyday teaches us new things; every experience takes us through a new avenue of learning. We encounter various kinds of teachings that instruct us and provide us the basic ideas about few things. At the same time, we are also trained to follow orders. Right from the little duties at home that we learn as children to the highest professional responsibilities we take up there orders in all different forms.
Surprisingly, we realize how precious these teachings and orders in our lives have been by guiding us towards the right direction. Seldom that we understand the importance of these teachings and orders while we learn or undergo them. But, at the completion of these seasons of total adherence, we realise the value of following th…

A Young Person's Life of Purity

Passage to be read: Psalm 119: 9 - 16

How can a young person live a pure life? By obeying your word.  With all my heart I try to obey you. Don't let me break your commands.  I have taken your words to heart so I would not sin against you. (Psalm 119: 9-11)

It is the summer of life. Things around us are colourful, beautiful, energetic, inspiring, motivational and many a time pleasing and pleasure-filled. Behind such a colourful backdrop, there are plenty of challenges and obstacles too. The natural metabolism and the chemistry of the body, the educational and employment goals, the availability of everything online and the life-changing decisions made during this season.
Through all these channels of challenges, a young life has to survive, live and see the fulfillment in realising that it has been a fruitful season of youthfulness. But to live through all these and to survive until the end, purity matters! Living a young life of purity is one of the greatest challenges. A young person'…

Blessing Comes Through Faith

Passage to be read: Galatians 03: 01 - 14

Now it is clear that no one can be made right with God by the law,  because the Scriptures say, “Those who are right with God will live by faith.” (Galatians 03: 11)
There may be many questions in our hearts, still awaiting answers from God. At times, the human wisdom and the logic do not apply. Confusions all around. Everything looks vacant. Nothing seems possible. Closed doors and empty vessels. Tired and depressed, we may stand without knowing where to go and what move to make next.

The inner pain increases after every thought of impossibility and our minds make their own calculations with the limited measuring scale within our human boundaries. We tend to look at the worst situations that this temporary condition would take us into. And, in such moments, where does our faith go?

God's word says, "those who are right with God will live by faith." The intimacy with God ensures that your ways are right in the sight of the Lord, …

The Desire to Give

Passage to be read: 2 Corinthians 9: 1-15
"Each of you should give as you have decided in your heart to give.  You should not be sad when you give, and you should not give because you feel forced to give. God loves the person who gives happily. And God can give you more blessings than you need. Then you will always have plenty of everything - enough to give to every good work." (2 Corinthians 9:7,8)

We have learned to receive. "Thank you" has become such a common word amongst us. The habit of giving is no more nurtured in most of our lifestyles. People run towards an offer with a discount or a sale, but very few walk towards the spot where contribution is needed. It's not the purse or the notes inside it, or it's not even the bank balance you have that matters; but it's the desire. The desire to give!
The Bible says, 'God loves the person who gives happily' (2 Corinthians 9:7). More than any other reward that the following verses would promise, be…

Your Obedience Saves the People

Passage to be read: Acts 27: 13-26

"But now I tell you to cheer up because none of you will die. Only the ship will be lost. Last night an angel came to me from the God I belong to and worship. The angel said, 'Paul, do not be afraid. You must stand before Caesar. And God has promised you that He will save the lives of everyone sailing with you.' So men, have courage. I trust in God that everything will happen as his angel told me." (Acts 27: 22-25)
A passage that creates a big difference. 'The Storm', read in full from Acts 27: 13-26, brings forward an important lesson in the lives of many of us who have a greater calling from God. A calling to do His will, a calling to serve God and a calling to faithfully complete the task that God has given into our hands. There are challenges and obstacles as we wade through the waves, but that burning passion keeps us moving.
In the life of the apostle Paul, there was such a season of never ending stream of passion flowing…
