Finding Life, Success and Honour

Passage to be read: Proverbs 21

Whoever tries to live right and be loyal

finds life, success and honor.

(Proverbs 21:21)

If you had ever wondered about the three important things that the human thoughts ever wanted, it would be life, success and honor. Everyday, as we begin our day, we believe that we are moving a step closer to all these three. And the passage that we have read above, and the particular verse that we are meditating on, ensures the three things, through a condition. 

What is interesting is that, we have always believed in the fact that life, success and honor are like pillars that hold ourselves, in terms of the personal and social side of us. True to an extent. But the way in which our human mind initiates to find these three is the essential part of the lesson.

Finding a life is one of the goals of the human mind. A satisfied life that has blessings in abundance, so that you live your life to the fullest and also give to others as much as you can. A life that has all the comforts, and where there is less struggle to find your daily food. In broader terms, finding a personal life that is surrounded by the basic needs and where safety and security is assured, while there is love and the sense of belonging is what the human beings want. And, it is true that we are all running the different races to find this. It is not only the life here on earth, but also an everlasting life. A person who tries to live right and be loyal in each step of his life on earth, is assured of the everlasting life that God grants him.

Finding success in whatever we initiate and continue to do, is another important thing in our life. We always want our initiatives to be successful. It could be the personal initiatives, plans regarding your education, steps taken towards your dream profession or even as a family or society, the next ventures you are going into. We want to be successful. And it is true, that we believe by default that being determined, hardworking and by following the perfectionist's style we could assure this success. But there is something more than that, and the above verse leads us into that truth.

Finding honour through a satisfied and all-inclusive life and the successes in the list, is another part of the human search. The human mind begins to search for honour in the places it visits, among the people it mingles around and even in the highest gathering of personalities, because it has witnessed a life, that has been successful, and thus believes that it needs to be honoured. And that's what we do to the ones who have lived a life that is successful; we honour them. But where does the real honour come from?

Realising the importance of these three pillars in our lives would enable us to go further and put in a real effort in order to find the three. And the verse we have above just ensures these three things that the human mind strives for, through a condition that our human mind fails to fall into at times. 

Proverbs 21:21 says, "Whoever tries to live right and be loyal finds life, success and honor." Yes, it is not an easy task to live a life that is right and to go in search of success be being loyal. Sometimes the human failures and weaknesses tempt people to take the shorter way, the hidden route to find a successful life. And it is also agreeable that it is not going to be an easy walk, living a life that is right and a steadfast walk by being loyal.

Let us shift our focus to an important word in that verse. "Whoever tries to..."

Our weaknesses are known. The human mind's weak spots are learned. But, whoever makes an attempt or tries, to be right and to be loyal in their journey of faith, would surely find life, success and honour. Doing it the right way, and being loyal in your daily walk is more important than the initiatives, plans, maps and figures that you have made for ensuring the much needed life, success and honour. 

God blesses in abundance those who have not failed to live it the right way and been loyal to Him in whatever they did. God blesses them with the fullness of life, success in whatever they initiate, and honours them with His great blessings, sometimes a crown filled with diamonds of God's promises.

My dearest friend in Christ, I pray that God's presence near you will always lead you to try and live your life in the right way and be loyal to God. I also pray that you will abide by God's precious guidance, His voice that leads you into a real life, success and honour.
