God Knit You Together in Your Mother's Womb

"For you created my inmost being, you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; 

your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

(Psalm 139: 13, 14)

King David was in awe and he writes this beautiful Psalm 139. This beautiful imagination that just appeared to him would have changed his entire life and his perceptions. Reflecting on how transparent his life was in front of God, David writes these few lines, unable to bear the heaviness that just came upon him. May be, after few failed attempts of trying to search a place to hide away from all that was behind his life, chasing him and trying to capture him, he finds that whatever it may be, he cannot hide from God; cannot flee from His presence. 

Looking back at our footprints, we realise how great God has been. How well He knows us. How clear is our picture in front of Him. And how assured we are in His precious hands. Those of us who are worrying today about the next year, our next steps and our future plans, we just need to pause, close our eyes and imagine for a moment.

Just try to imagine what King David had imagined many centuries before!

We have already been carefully presented. Nobody else, but God created our inmost being. And look at that beautiful word, "knit together." Wow! Isn't that so awesome? We have been carefully and wonderfully knit by God's own hands in our mother's womb. God decided on our details. He had his own pattern placed in us. He decided what combinations should make us together. And as a result of this great master plan, we have been fearfully and wonderfully made! Have you ever seen someone working on something fearfully? Yes. Not a single details goes unnoticed. Not even a single mistake. 

You were never an accident! Everything in you was fearfully and wonderfully made under God's command and He knit you together in your mother's womb. 

Heard of DNA? Know what they carry in themselves? And, I wonder, whether King David knew DNA this many years ago and what it carried in it. And moreover, look at those beautiful components that were carefully chosen... Adenine.. Thymine.. Guanine.. Cytosine.. And what they made together! Yes! Yes! God knit you together in your mother's womb. Every single detail in you was carefully decided and chosen by God so that you are wonderful; His creation.

Everything that God made is wonderful. And we have to know that full well. That's why David uses that word too.

My dear friend. If you are reading this today with a heart that is full of discouragements and drawbacks, do not mingle among that anymore. If you are feeling down about yourself, please do not! I just want to remind you again, that you were carefully and wonderfully made by God. Each and every feature in you was decided by God and you are His masterpiece. Stand up once again, smile and move on. When the right time comes, we are all going to realise, why God has made us with this combination!
