God Gives What is Good
The Lord says, "My thoughts are not like your thoughts.
Your ways are not like my ways.
Just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
( Isaiah 55: 8,9 )
Ever had the habit of quality-checking the things placed in front of you? Why not try it if you never had done it before. Just spend a moment calling out people, moments and things in your life who/that are so special to you. Try a quality-check on them. YES! You may be realising it for the first time that they are 'good.' These great blessings in your life may appear not in the way you wanted them, but you are assured of receiving the best. When God decided to bless you with these blessings, He ensured that they are Good.
In times when questions arise in your heart about the blessings you have received; people, moments and things around you, there are chances when your heart may sink; disappointed. "Lord what I asked for was something and what I have received is something else." Your heart and mind start pondering on the reasons why some of these blessings were not exactly in the way you wished them to be. But my dear friend, you need to be assured of something that your loving God promises you of. The Lord says, "My thoughts are not like your thoughts. Your ways are not like my ways" (Isaiah 55:8). What an assurance. Even when you see that things are not placed before you in the way that your heart wanted them to be, God is in the midst, reminding you of how great and different are His thoughts and ways from you.
The Lord is The Creator. He had everything well planned even before He had this project called 'you' in His mind. We have to understand that the way we think for ourselves and the way God has thought about it are entirely different. His ways and thoughts are so higher than ours. We can't even have the slightest idea why God wanted few things in our lives to be the way they are. God's ideas and plans for us are so lofty and great, that we cannot even have the slightest idea with our brains fixed within this little skull and our hearts busy trying to find the next meal. God looks at our little hearts and thoughts that are striving hard to find few important answers in their life and He says, "just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts." Yes! You may have to literally look up into the skies and realise this. Tilt your head a bit towards the heavens and realise. Friend, God's ways and thoughts are so higher that you cannot even reach them. It will only be an eternal search project if you try to find reasons and answers for all that is around you.
Now that we know that our loving God has assured us of how higher and greater His ways and thoughts are for us, it is time for us to relax and trust in Him. Look around. See how much He has blessed you with. Things that you had never imagined of having in your life; even in your wildest dreams. See how good they are!
Let us believe, that our God gives what is good for all of us. Just spend some moments today trying to understand the real meaning of "good" and slowly realise how God has blessed you with good things around and within you. It is all because our Lord's thoughts are not like our thoughts and His ways are not like our ways. He does things in His own style! All that we could do is, trust in Him with all our heart and mind, know that He is in the midst and realise that His ways and thoughts are greater than ours. God always gives what is good.
