Wait for the Lord
Passage to be read: Proverbs 20
"Wait for the Lord, and He will make things right."
(Proverbs 20: 22)
Observing the speed in which information is shared in our world, we may tend to become a bit warned of ourselves. There is always an urgency observed in whatever we do. Somewhere in the agenda, there seems to be an urgent matter that has to be decided upon, as soon as possible. And in the rush, many of us miss the most important point; to wait for the Lord!
It could be the next project that you want to begin at your workplace, the new mission area in which you want to establish a center, the next song that you are going to compose, the selection of your partner for life, the job that you have applied for or may be the day you are thinking of to migrate to another country. Whatever it may be, let us learn to wait for the Lord, for there is an assurance given to us, and that is what makes the waiting the greater it can be.
When we wait for the Lord, for His moment, for His space, for His way, our Lord makes it beautiful; beautiful and complete as it can be. Whatever perfection is aimed by us, the human beings, there can only be a little bit of effort. But it is God who makes it perfect. And when God, our Lord does that, he makes things right! Yes. Even in the worst circumstances, if we learn to wait for the Lord, depending on Him for the way out, He will make it right. And when the Lord knows that is right, what else do we have to worry about?
Three wonderful points, I want to share with you. Waiting for the Lord is waiting for His Moment, waiting for His Place, and waiting for His Way. And when these three things are within your wait, then my friend, let me assure you, that it going to be the most perfect thing in your life.
Waiting for the Lord's Moment. In all of our lives, God has beautiful moments planned. Not even the best event planners in the world could be able to make such beautiful moments for you. God has planned such moments to be breathtakingly amazing! We just blurt out that "wow" when we go through such amazing moments. And whenever we say "wow" it is time to thank the Lord. God has planned the many moments in life beautifully, and let us learn to wait for Him.
Waiting for the Lord's Space. As we walk through each step planned by God for our lives, there comes spaces where we may have to just pause, wonder at the amazing beauty and amazement around us and then move on, and those are the different places through which God leads us. A person having a closer walk with God will always be at the right place at the right moment. Let us not rush into spaces that we create for ourselves, but wait for the Lord to lead us to His beautiful space specially designed for us. It could be the seat at the specific university that God has decided for you, the desk at the workplace where God wants you to be, or the special alter beautifully made for you to stand on your wedding day, or even may be the pulpit that is created for you to stand and share the word of God. Let us wait for the Lord for Him to lead us into the spaces that He has made for us with detail.
Waiting for the Lord's Way. As human beings, we have been designed by God, according to His everlasting will, to do specific works. And, throughout our life on this earth, we have to strive towards completing the tasks that God has kept for us. But let me remind you, my dear friend. All these tasks should be done in the Lord's way; God's planned style. And, let us not rush into any of these tasks, planning and forcing things to fall into our way. Let us wait for the Lord's way. As we wait upon Him, God shows us the way; His grand and powerful way in which to take initiatives and to take forward the work. Slowly and steadily, day by day, minute by minute, God will begin to lead us in His way, and for sure that is going to be the most beautiful and perfect way it would be to do that specific work. It can be the next occasion in your family, your next establishment in your entrepreneurship or even the next step in your ministry. Let us wait for the Lord's Way.
Waiting for the Lord does not only lead us into God's designed moments, spaces and ways, but it also makes things right. Whatever plans, architectural drawings, financial plannings, learning initiatives that did not work properly is made right when we wait for the Lord. If you had rushed into something and struggling today because of that rush, the only thing you could do is to, slow down, pause and wait for the Lord's answer. God will make things right. You could move on later with this assurance.
