When King David prayed for Mercy and Forgiveness..

Psalm 51:10,11

"Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from your presence
or take away your holy spirit from me".

The above lines from Psalms 51, is part of King David's prayer, asking God for mercy and forgiveness, after he realized that he had sinned against God, and had done what is evil in God's sight (committed adultery with Bathsheba). In such a prayer for restoration and new life, we see four important things for which David prayed for. He asked God for a pure heart, a steadfast spirit, God's presence and His holy spirit.

In our day to day life, as we move with the challenge of facing a world which demands its own priorities, loaded with temptations to sin and many varied ideas which can lead you astray, we need to have these four things in our life to live a victorious and joyful life, which will make God happy and pleased.

So everyday, pray to God, for a pure heart which will keep yourself pure, a steadfast spirit which will keep you firm, God's presence to be with you and His holy spirit to guide you; so that you can overcome temptations and be a blessing in this world.

May God bless you.

Have a blessed week ahead!!
