Waiting patiently for His time
I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard
my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire;
he set my
feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. (Psalm 40: 1-2)
It has been a long way that we have come. Through the years,
God’s mercy and His grace have been sufficient in our lives. We have understood
how God’s love has been strengthening us in our times of trouble. And today as we look back, the path in which
we have been walking on, it reminds us that everything has been perfectly timed
and planned in God’s great plan.
There were moments in our life, where we went running around
asking for help. We went crazy when we found that we couldn't find even a
single person assuring that his/her helping hand will be there near to us. We,
at last, decide to ask God’s help. So we start asking God’s help with a faith
that seems to be ‘never fading’. But, as time passes by, our faith in God and
the belief we have in Him, at times, slowly starts fading away. We think that our
cry was not heard. We start doubting. We end up worrying about our needs so
much that we tend to forget that there is one God who remembers our every cry.
What is it all about?
The passage we've just read reminds us of that great
challenge we all do have. “Wait patiently for the Lord”. It may seem easy when
we say that, but really tough to hold on to it. It is such a big realization
from the Psalmist’s side, as he stands on a firm ground, and sees that God has
heard his cry. That moment when he realizes that God has lifted him out of the
slimy pit, out of the mud and mire, his heart rejoices. He finds the long
awaited result of waiting for God’s time, patiently.
My dear friend, have you been praying for so long for one
need, which you are becoming tired of asking anymore? Have you given up the hope of
receiving that particular blessing from God? I would like to tell you, it is
worth waiting patiently for God’s time. He makes things happen, in His time. He
knows the best time to provide you with your need. All what we need to do, I
again remind you, is to wait patiently for His time. We may realize one day that
it was worth waiting for God’s time.
May God bless you..
